Electronics Q - 2x4,5A in parallel = ?A

I'm currently getting into airbrushing, and I found some instructions to build my own ventilation cabin for it. I got a recommendation to use a couple of those 12v boat engine compartment exhaust fans and a 12v computer PSU to drive those.

So, am I right that if I get two 12v/4.5A exhaust fans, and connect them parallel, they are going to use 9A, and I should be okay using a old computer PSU that gives me 15A?

That sounds fine, yes - if the PS is rated at 12V output up to 15A, connecting the two 12V fan motors in parallel will mean they draw 4.5A each making a total of 9A.

It *should* work, but double-check the voltage you're getting. Some computer PSUs don't regulate too well if the 5v and/or 3.3v lines aren't loaded enough.
