Freaky! I like some of ELO's tunes. I hope he RIP.

According to the report, "We don't believe he was ever married and we have identified an ex-girlfriend but she is currently abroad."

A broad, a chick, a babe, a bird...whatever they want to call her, they need to get ahold of her soon.

Edwards played on Eldorado, one of the most influencial rock albums for me.

Very sad - best wishes to his friends and family.

Stuff like this always reminds me how little control we really have over our lives. You can eat right, watch your weight, keep your cholesterol down, floss, wear condoms, use hearing protection, and ... hay bale. Game over.

Tragic way to go, a farmer near here died in straw bale accident a few weeks ago. Not his fault either. It is sad that it usually happens to the nice guys in life

I saw him play with ELO in about 1973 at Leeds Poly as it was then, Leeds Metropolitan University as it is now. I don't remember Michael in particular but I remember the night well, ElO played a blinding set. It was a students only night but I blagged my way in by helping the drummer with something on his kit. He was outside the loading door struggling with his kick drum pedal and needed a pair of pliers, I was parked nearby with tools in my car. I helped him fix it, then helped the rest of the band carry their gear in and just stayed in there.

They aren't so bad when stationary or slow moving but when they pick up a great deal of downhill speed and combine with the forward speed of a moving vehicle at just the wrong moment:
