We've been playing for several decades as a family band...but Dad is 93,and starting to fade...my 70 year old lead guitar brother is moving out of state and I am left without a band.I think I can probably join another band around here, but it CERTAINLY won't be the same! HOW I WISH I COULD TURN BACK THE PAGES OF TIME !! LOL to all you young folks out there...ENJOY the time you have (especially if it's with family members)...Play lots of gigs, and keep up the music.

I wish we all could stop the hands of time from moving forward.
My Dad was a sax player and my brother is a guitar player..I play bass..Unfortunately my Dad passed in 1984. I did get a chance to perform with him. He used to do big band gigs around the NYC area..he invited me and my brother to a few shows and we did a few blues tunes between his sets.... our reward was to haul his gear : )
I do perform with my brother a few times a year.. he lives in Florida and I am in NYC so whenever I travel down there I get to perform..
I hope you have some recording a pictures in the scrap book... |

But just look at the wealth of a lifetime of fantastic memories, fun and music with those you truly loved. Many long time bands develop a sense of family, but yours truly was. You are a truly lucky man!

Savor the memories, maybe even write a book about them to pass on to your heirs.
Best of luck! |
