The end of the Mayan calendar..

I'm curious if this apocalyps thing is going to happen on the december 21 itself or is the moment after the 21st and actually on december 22? I find this very difficult to plan in my smartphone. Is this a whole day event? Is it possible to still plan some last minute transactions on the 21th? Also trying to determine the best moment to be at home and follow the whole thing on CNN.

Don't know about corrections for summer or wintertime though.

Can I be technical and note its just the end of a cycle in the Long Count and it just restarts again? By all means, continue to freak out.

What you are all forgetting, is that the Mayan calendar actually failed to take account of leap years. The world actually ended about 4 years ago.

Didn't the world end for the Mayans centuries ago when they all mysteriously vanished due to plague, or Aztec invasion, or whatever?

Shouldn't their doomsday calendar chiseler guy seen that one coming?

I got a gig that night, so I couldn't care less. I can't imagine a better way to go out.

I'm playing a xmas gig that night with an amazing band as headline, could it wait a day or so, after all, its Christmas :)

On the lines of people predicting the future, I'm still waiting for a psychic to call me. After all, if you are really psychic, then you should know that I need your services (and also should know my phone number) and therefore should have called me by now. But I digress...

Anyway, I'm quite certain that no matter what date/day/year/time anyone says the world will end, it won't. God will ensure no one else gets the credit for knowing but Him.
