I read a story where they'll sell the company to the highest bidder. The highest bidder will still probably keep the Twinkie around once the company's bought.

Hopefully.

Though truth be told I've always been more a Little Debbie guy myself.

Yes! The great thing about Zingers is that theyre not only made by Hostess, but also the Dolly Madison bakery.
Hostess stuff isnt all that great anyway, theyre best product (other than Zingers) is the chocolate chemical cupcake.

Interesting history. I used to love that stuff as a kid. I wouldn't touch it now though. Seems like bizarro food.

Those are made by Satan taking a dump on those white cardboard package things.

Oh, and Little Debbie ftw! For the cost of a pair of Twinkies you can get something like 6-8 snack cakes.

Last time I had a Twinkie, it was a fried one at the Texas Fair, made me ill [takes a lot for food to make me ill].

Sad that 18,500 folks will be loosing their jobs in this economy.

As long as the Twinkie is turned into a cornbread cake with whipped / foamed bacon-dripping filling, I'm in.

Otherwise, r.i.p.

But yes, the job losses are dire and unfortunate. Hope someone moves in swiftly and stabilizes the company in some way.

Too bad about the jobs, but good riddance to that poison they sell as "food".

This may have a serious impact on the petroleum by-products industry.

The good news is, you can buy out your local Hostess/Wonder Thrift store of every box of Twinkies they have in stock, put em in storage and they'll still be fresh out of the box 20 years later.

Lol! Just the images alone are purely nasty. On a serious note, it would be very sad and unfortunate for all those folks to become unemployed. The only possible silver lining to it would be that all that junk would have to come off the shelf.

[Read the story from the first thread on this, guys:
http://fox8.com/2012/11/13/labor-fig...-wonder-bread/

Hostess has filed bankruptcy twice in the past eight years. The CEO is trying to blame it all on the unions, but even he admitted the company has been poorly managed. This company is dying because people are more health-conscious and snack-food competition has increased.
