Does anyone else here have this phone? I bet you do. I see everyone with one nowadays. that or a BlackBerry. I can't figure out why youd want the Touch, though..
Here's a list of problems I've had with mine:
-Shuts off randomly and often. When it does so it resets all of my settings. ALL of them. Even the wallpaper and font.
-Turns itself back on. I'll shut it off at a doctors office or something and it'll repeatedly turn itself back on.
-Background light stays on. It stays on 90% of the time. The only way I can usually get it to stay off for a bit is if I unlock and then lock it, twice.
-Beeps while I'm on the phone about every 30 seconds as if I've received a text.
There are other small problems, but these are the ones that irritate me. I've looked everywhere for ways to fix these problems and have come up with nothing. Anyone here have any solutions?

The only problem I experience with it is that sometimes when i go to connect to the internet it restarts itself (though I dont lose any of my settings).
Its possible you just got a bad phone, have you tried taking it in and having it replaced?

I work during the hours that the Verizon stores are open around here, so it gets a bit difficult. I was just hoping someone had heard of a way to fix it.

I currently own the NV3 and I had the Touch. I had similar problems like yours and have had the same battery issues on 2 different NV3s. Verizon has been shipping phones where the battery isn't properly housed and the smallest vibration, such as having it in your pocket, can mess with it.
I thought that this was just the first batches of these phones but I've got friends who've bought them recently and have gotten the same issues only to send them back to Verizon.
Try dialing, I think, #224. You might need a software update.

It never used to do it and it does it while just sitting there on the table and nothing touching it. It also has been dropped and been just fine. Either way, I'll probably end up taking it back.

Sometimes I'd leave it on the table and then plop a text book down on the table and it'd shut off. Other times I'd leave it in my pocket as I went running and it wouldn't shut off. The on-off issue is due to how the battery is housed in the phone. It is a manufacturing defect.

If you feel you've reached this recording in error please contact your local Verizon Dealer." and hangs up when I call #224.
Verizong hates me. I've been through 3, soon to be 4, phones in the past 10 months through them. My boyfriend's Blackberry has been really messing up as of late, too. I dunno. We'll probably both just get new phones.

Maybe their updating software is down and cannot update software at this time.
I never seem to have problems with my phones until my contract is about to end, though that little restart thing I mentioned has been around for a while. My old Chocolate phone had problems with the touch sensors and would scroll endlessly in the down direction. But, Ive never had a problem to the point Ive had to take a phone back. My mother on the other hand, seems to have problems everytime she gets a new phone, until she finally gets a different model.

I don't even remember what it was, and then an EnV 3, and them another EnV 3 and them I smashed it when I got mad at it.. and then I got this EnV Touch,... but I still have another year on my contract. It's a 2 year, I believe. I dunno. Their phone's have definitely gone down in value it seems, as of late. It's a shame. This phone cost good money. So did my b/f's BlackBerry Curve.

I however have the EnV3 and love it. Best phone I've ever had and the ****er doesn't seem to want to die. I've smashed the plastic lens cover for the camera, but it still works. Just takes crappy pictures. But the battery seems to last forever, and the phone has never failed me. |

I started on a cheap $20 Nokia, then went on to some not quite as cheap Motorola, then the LG Chocolate, and now the Voyager. I broke my Nokia once when I was pushed into a pool. Al other have lasted me until my contract has expired, so a minimum of 2 years. My contract ends around October I think. I plan on getting whatever the newest Droid at the time is.

Anybody know a good phone to upgrade to? I don't want to get a smart phone because of the $30 media package I have to get every month.
Sorry for the thread de-rail. |

I want to kill it but I'll have top wait till November to upgrade.

I've had the touch screen stop working, two of them would make a high-pitch noise like a whistle when the backlight was on (very annoying). Some have just stopped working altogether.
