Alas, it was only Slayer making asses of themselves. Me love some Slayer, but this does indeed suck. |

| | | | I have no problem with Steppenwolf, or the song, but slayer and classic rock just doesnt mix.

BUT let me point out that there are several things wrong here.
1. Slayer is on a comp disc for FOX/NASCAR.
2. Slayer is performing on Best Damn Sports show on FOX.
3. Slayer is doing a cover.
4. Did they even have the guitars and bass plugged in? All I hear are vocals and drums. It's so sad when Kerry King takes his solo, cause I see his fingers moving but he might as well be playing along with a Ashley Simpson record - cause I CAN'T HEAR ANYTHING!
They should've invited people from the audience to pit it up in front of them (or do they have an audience?). At least then it would've been fun for somebody. Maybe they could've thrown Chris Rose through the kickdrum head!

PS, that was enough Slayer to last me the rest of my life.

As for the OP - I actually Tivo'd that episode when I heard Slayer was performing. A friend of mine had never heard them before, and was interested in checking it out. I wish I hadn't wasted the time setting it up.

Vocals are way too high/strained to be performed well in any shape or form. Rhythm goes from a straight forward 160BPM 4/4 (the original) to a sloppy 80BPM mosh breakdown (slayer), which totally sucked balls. I can't even begin to imagine how embarrassing this is for slayer.
