Equipment addiction: Real or carrots?

Saw this, thought it was amusing but also think I have it. Should I get an extra Pedalboard?

It's a very real thing. There are two cures: discipline and self control or empty bank accounts and overdue bills.

There's no hope, then.

A pedalboard made of carrots is good for your eyes.

Define addiction so we discuss on the same terms. A mental addiction, otherwise called a strong habit, I'd say yes. A physical one, with physical withdrawal symptoms? no.

Even more sad is that I buy all kinds of pedals, play with them, and then..... Never like the tone and just run clean. So I have an ever expanding row of effects that just gather dust....but can't stop trying to find that one great addition nor can I bring myself to sell off most of them. They sit in rubbermaid tubs under my couch in the closet...

You have a couch in your closet?
