For a bass player...Memorize:

12 Jazz Standards. 3-5 will be called
You must play the melody, solo, and walk for however many choruses.

One Classical Piece : I chose Vivaldi. I want to kill myself.

Three Choices tunes : I chose Manha De Carnival, Beautiful Love, and did my own arrangement of "My Girl"

None the less, ALL of these need to memorized (except the classical piece)

I'm nervous as hell.

your juries are much harder than mine.

i just have to play a piece of my choosing for the board. and demonstrate some kind of knowledge of scales.

on the other hand i do go to community college

Nice. My jury is on May 12th. 3-5 tunes [2 are typically called]. Plus performing my transcription. My teacher & I haven't decided which transcription i'll be doing-this semester i did Jaco's solo off of Bright Size Life & Charlie Haden's solo off of Waltz For Ruth [off of Beyond the Missouri Sky w/Pat Metheny-not the one w/Kenny Baron].
