Interesting competion this year I must say... Evidently pop is ruling, even Finland is entering with a techo-ish song. To be honest, I liked last year's Manowar better Well, I didn't actually bothered to listen all songs, just the ones I presumed to be decent.

To my surprise, I wonder why Andorra didn't qualify. It's not that of a good song (or I am too bored of guitar playing singer songwriter female stereotype), but is certainly better than half of the finalists. Czech Republic didn't qualify either, I thought they would make it because of the humor factor?? Ireland shouldn't be forgotten, the song is generic chic rock by all means, but a good example to say the least. Again they were better than the half of the finalists.

In all fairness, Greece is one of the favorites along with Turkey. These guys have been producing really good songs in the recent 5-6 years (and some hot people). Not that I enjoy dance music, per se, but aside from political voting, I expect both of them to be at top 5. 2005 Greek song is one of my all time favorites in ESC and probably shares the first place with Turkey 2008 (even though they came 4th or 5th, song was too good for ESC). Add Spain to this mix and we have a competion. Spain did put out a winner material this year and I am 100% sure they would finish in top 3.

I actually do like Moldova song. It might be about I like Balkan music, Goran Bregovic in particular. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they host ESC 2010 Chişinău next year. Oh Balkan Girls of Romania are HOT. Song is good for ESC, too. Weirdly, my 4 of my top 5 picks are tought to form a "Balkan" allience and give points to eachother. I wonder what would happen if that becomes the case this year.

What happened UK after Imaani?. Russia is playing safe. Good enough not to fail, but no spark whatsoever. Belgium "Elvis" is actually pretty cool. Not at all a "copycat" as far as the song goes, but cool nonetheless Crotia's upbeat song is pretty generic IMO. Today even "Youtube musicians" do better with the synths. Germany swings this year! And there is this thing with the Marilyn Manson's sweetheart, let's see what happens.

About Bosnia, Lithuania and France. Slow songs never did good, ever! What are they thinking? Are we gonna cry our eyes out and "emote"? While I bash about this, I ought to give a hesitant two thumbs up for Poland. Good song, still can't make it.

Above post represents my thoughts and feelings. No need to flame me because of them. Just fire away!

I really think the Greek song was overrated. I don't know how it got through. The girls from Ireland sounded much better, to me. I was also really surprised at how much pop music there was this year. There were a few ballards, too.

I'm glad Turkey and Azerbaijan got through hehe.

I'm voting for her, she's Belgian, born and bred in the fine town of Mol in the province of Antwerp!

And **** she is extremely hot.

Did Armenia qualify? I liked their song.

I had (have) the tv on, watching sporadically as I also practiced some songs I need to know next week. So I muted the tv for some time, which isn't always a bad thing when it comes to ESC.... So I missed Iceland's song, but I saw one of those short clips and she was definitely cute. Seemed to be a good song too.

The Icelandic chick was way hot - same with some girl who sang with this dude, they were Eastern European. This year's show was somewhat better than last year, but still. The quality of most of the songs and performances were well below par.

Only 13 nations have voted out of 42 but I'd say that Norway has got it in the bag!

The turkish singer is the best argument for turkish EU-membership I´ve come across so far!

Btw, the Norwegian winner is an amazing talent violin talent...he´s so good he made a friend of mine stop playing (or so the story goes).

A nice bass solo put in the song and we would have definitely gotten over 400 points! Congrats to Norway and Alexander Rybak!
