What in the **** took me so long?

For me it's this...

I was mowing today and was thinking about it.

My yard used to take a day to a day and a half to mow and I hated it. Because of that, part of what took me so long was because I waited so long. I'd have to stop every 12 feet to empty the bag. I was tired, sore (I'm naturally lazy ), and generally frustrated for what I felt was wasting the day away.

Now it takes about an hour to an hour and a half and I actually enjoy doing it. I bought it a year ago, but I still remember how miserable I was. At the time, I just didn't want to spend the money on it, but man has it ended up paying for itself.

I realize things like this all the time... Ever happened to you?

I hear you. I have no problem with a lawn that takes 1-2 hours, but more than a day? ABSOLUTELY riding mower territory. Good call.

Now just be safe using it.

Haha It used to take 8 to 10 hours in total. Most of it was because I would let it get too long. That and did I mention I'm lazy?

I just can't believe I waited as long as I did before buying one.

There has to be others who've picked up some stuff that have made their lives better, easier, or much more enjoyable then they thought it would and wondered how they went so long without it...

A wood burning stove insert for our fireplace. Heated the whole house this winter with wood only - the house has never been so warm.

Nearly all my purchases but the bad ones

But the answer is usually because I had no money to buy it before.

A sawzall (reciprocating saw)! Never thought I would use one enough to be worth it. Finally bought a cheap one.... and use it all the time. I wish I had bought one earlier and I wish I had bought a more powerful one.

Now you can get together with your nieghbors while sitting on your mower and crack open some beers while saying "Yep," King of the Hill style.

2 words: Koi Pond.
You simply have too much yard with nothing there but grass.
Installing a swimming pool would be even cooler.

Big yard, whole day mowing = no thanks!

Yep.

Car Radio this weekend. I haven't had one since November and I finally couldn't stand it anymore. Just in time for my summer classes commute too.

Sounds like you need some goats! Between goats and horses, we don't have to ever mow our fields the animals are always happy, and look good roaming the fields. Win, win, win situation.

I wasted so much money and time listening to music with crap earphones for years.I won't even mention the noise coming from the outside and ruining it 10 times more...
I don't go outside without any kind of portable music player since I was 14.

Remote car starter for my car. Our winter in central Alberta was a harsh one. Getting into a warm car in -30C weather was very nice.
