Every Belly Dancer I ever saw has a belly.

You'd think with all that grinding the would be thinner! Instead, they always have a big ole muffin top rollin' around.

I fail to see a problem. As long as there's no cankles level phatness, I'm down with some womanly curves. The sultry dancing is a total bonus.

If they didn't have a belly, they would just be dancers . . .

I played Arab, Turkish and Greek music exclusively for about 10 years, and worked with a lot of bellydancers.
Many of them, especially the top dancers, were very fit.
It was a fun time.

I'm not turned on by a belly dancer with a navel that could hide a Sunday paper.

Sorry, amigo, that's the only one I have in digital format.
That's Judeen - amazing dancer from SoCal.
Some other dancers I worked with - I'll limit it to three.

I remember reading something about this in a trivia book once. They say the muscles beneath the layer or fat are rather toned, but it just doesn't work out right without the fat to smooth things out. I mean, would you want to see someone with the physique of Arnold Schwarzenegger belly dance?

Belly dancing is fine, gut shaking is gross. Judeen is my kind of belly dancer!

She's very cute, but too skinny to be a good belly dancer IMO. Probably has no hips.

Yep, instead of the skin staying taut, it stretches to the point of-you got it, belly roll...

I think the smoother, rounder hips and bellies go better with the undulating movements.
