Every single morning...

Sign in to disble this ad
For at least the last 2 weeks, every single day when i turn on the TV, it's the same damn commercial playing. It is really starting to enrage me.

It's a commercial about the mortgage loan crisis. Every single morning i turn on the TV and there is the woman in her business suit talking about the mortgage loan crisis, then President Obama making a speech on the matter.

What do you guys think? Should i be this enraged by simple things like this, or would it irritate you as well?

I've been living for almost 9 months without a tv now, and I can't say I miss it one bit.

I watch movies or series on my computer, read the paper or websites for information and news and that's that. If I want to see a sportsgame I'll go to a local bar.

Whenever I turn on a tv somewhere I am amazed by the huge amounts of sheer crap that's on.

So that might be a solution, throw it out

As long as we have this( http://market-ticker.org/ ) :

you'll have the "problem" being play-acted on tv to folks willing to watch and unable to press the OFF button on the remote.

Something to think about. It also applies to internet:

The thing is, someone like myself who doesn't own a TV, won't choose to go and look at that crap online. It's a choice thing, nobody forces me to visit a given website, (except that time the mods rickrolled the entire ot board as an april fools prank.) When you turn on your TV, you have no choice. You will be bombarded with crap. It'll ruin your mind man...

you made the choice to turn on your tv. you also have a choice as to what channel you watch. and if you are on OT you are getting into way more crap than tv could ever provide you with

But it's amusing crap and it's not trying to sell me anything. That, for me, is the difference. Whichever channel you choose, it's the same crap. But to each his own, I wouldn't have the world any other way.

To me, this sums up the whole 'money-banker' scene:

I have a TV here but the only thing it's hooked up to is a DVD player. I haven't watched network TV in probably fifteen or twenty years. Whenever I go over to friends' homes and watch TV with them it amazes me the amount of mind numbing garbage that they subject themselves to....

....But then again, I frequent TB OT so I'm sure the same could be said about me.

If I see one more "JitterBug" phone commercial I'l slit my freakin' wrists!
I watch news in the morning getting ready for work.
That's pretty much all I watch - news & sports.
Maybe reruns of "House" before bed.
