Evil Dead 2013?!?!?!?

Holy Crap! I am kinda geeked up about this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ceBXUyuv4Q0

Army of Darkness was on cable the other night and I tried to talk my wife into watching it (Unsuccesfully). I told her about how me and my no good friends used to alter our realities and watch the whole Evil Dead series on video.

I really hope Bruce Campbell at least has a walk on role, or at least get to narrate or something.

I don't know if they are making all 3 movies or what, but this one looks great!!

Now if only they'll remake Dead Alive....... I'd love to see a CG Sumatran Rat Monkey!!!!

Shop smart, shop S-Mart!

Those are some of the greatest movies ever made!

Phalex 01-04-2013 07:09 AM

Looks like Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi are producing. Campbell had a "no comment" sort of response when asked if he was doing a cameo, so I think the answer is yes.

I really hope it doesn't suck........

Groovy. ;)

I think 'Dead Alive' was known as 'Braindead' over here. That and Bad Taste....who knew what Peter Jackson would go on to deliver...

That's right! I forgot that was Peter Jackson! I love the priest in that movie.

Looks like a really intense movie. I'm really glad Raimi and Cambell both had a hand in the making of the film. The fanboys are crying though....

I noticed that. There seems to be a bit of outrage!!!! If the movie blows, I may be outraged myself, but I think it looks pretty darn good so far.

If the critics hate it, I definitely want to see it!!!!

I'll reserve judgement until I see it. That said, Peter Jackson's Bad Taste is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen.

jugglingfreak 01-04-2013 08:27 AM

Wow.. I'll admit I had a horrible feeling when I heard they were going to be doing a remake.

This looks like it has serious potential..

mjac28 01-04-2013 09:36 PM

I just saw the original the other night love both movies

Tbh, getting real sick of the "remake everything" trend in films lately.

Looking at this, the gore and visual quality are upped, but all the character and humour are completely removed. Looks like any random gore/horror now.

i_got_a_mohawk 01-05-2013 09:10 AM

I'm quite mixed on this one. I hope it isnt terrible.

In part I think its something that should have been left alone, that it won't be the same without The Chin, who really made the films.

The trailer makes it seen like the humour is gone, but the trailer for the original left it seeming pretty serious.

Modern CGI may also hinder the film. But that's just my opinion.

Ya, there are no more good scripts left in Hollywood. The good scripts are ruined in production. Good example, Jack Reacher. In the books Jack Reacher is 250lbs, 6'5"...Tome Cruise plays him in the movie. WHY?

I remember saying something very similar years back when wee Brad Pitt played Achilles.

I see from the trailer that the infamous tree-rape scene is included in the remake. What a sh**storm THAT scene caused back in the very early 80's.

Agreed 100%.

Hey Phalex , have you seen " Bruce" [cambell] the film ?
Pretty fun if you're a fan

Phalex 01-05-2013 03:15 PM

I am, and I have not! It's on my list!

Bloodhammer 01-05-2013 03:35 PM

I'm not going to hold out any hope that this will be good. After Conan and Total Recall, amongst hundreds of other re-makes, I have lost all faith in re-movies. :atoz:

You guys will have to hope for me. I just can't do this again.

Pilgrim 01-05-2013 03:45 PM

I thought Arnold did a fine job in Conan. He's just about as articulate as the original character.
