Last I checked you had to buy $1 million worth of gear to get free shipping.

It was good for me. I bought a Markbass amp. It shipped promptly and arrived right on time in perfect condition.

Drop what you want in your cart, then wait a few days. I did that, and they e-mailed me a discount code for 10% off and free shipping.

They have always done really good for me. A few days ago I bought a Fender Mustang III Amp and a velcro pouch for my wireless. Got free shipping on both and they matched a Musician's Friend discount.

Thanks. I need a new amp and they have a $100 off promo - tempting. As easy with returns as Musician's Friend?

Let me see if my local store has what you are looking for. They are generally cheaper then GC SA and MF.

SO.. what are you looking for exactly?

I like to buy online with most stuff because it will come new and in the box. Also, at least once a month they send me a coupon for 15% off and free shipping. I like that because I get something nobody has ever played before and they are willing to use that discount code more often. Also, my closest store is 2 hours away.

I have bought from Musicians Friend (GC owned) many times. Always a good experience. My most recent purchase was from zzounds.com. Great also.

I canceled my order with them. Since I wanted my order shipped to my work address, they had to verify my debit card over the phone with my bank (which "requires" them to listen while I give my bank my SS# or bank account number). Um, no.

MF and GC almost always have the lowest prices, as well as the most convenience and liberal return policy.

You should be able to contact your bank (or credit card company) and include your work address as a verified shipping address. If you do it now, you won't have an issue next time you get stuck dealing with someone trying to limit fraud prevention.

As for GC.com, I've used them. They're the same parent company as all the other major internet music retailers. I do recall that GC.com previously charged state sales tax while others didn't. The "competitors" will typically price match.
