and there are customs fees tacked on by the carrier......there is a way to save those fees by brokering it yourself with a call to the carrier to set it up when the shipper calls for the tracking info.....tho last time ups would not set it up until the goods entered the country...........they would much rather collect those fees on every item they ship,and narrowing down the available time for self brokerage makes it harder to avoid the brokerage fees but it can still be done.......
many u.s. based shippers have received frantic calls from canadians that were shocked by 35 dollar customs fees on twenty dollar items and they really are not to blame.....unfortunately canooks unfamiliar with the carriers sent back items feeling that they had been screwed...(they had been but not by the u.s. shippers).....
....most times you see conus only,or no canadian shipping it is probably as a result of a u.s. shipper who has had this happen......i wonder if self brokerage info should be stickied,as there has been a lot of stuff i would have liked to buy,but u.s. based sellers would not ship here
