a role model of rehabilitation?...well yeah, i guess if i stole a million dollars, my life of crime would be over, too. why don't some of our liberal friends propose this as a cure for crime...you get ONE theft of a million dollars, and then we better not ever see you in criminal court again!
taken so long? well, can't answer that one, but karma's a bitch...you had your fun, now spend the rest of your life in prison...have a good day, Jorge!

He did not get to keep it. I am not arguing against his extradition, he is an escapee convicted of murder and was implicated in a skyjacking. It is not realistic to think that the government would give up as long as he is alive. I do think he has a shot at staying in Portugal since he is a citizen and is married to a Portuguese woman.

Walter Patterson, a gas station owner and decorated World War II veteran with two daughters, dead.
|
Was Walter Patterson rehabilitated back to life? What ever happened to his daughters? I'd like someone to write that story.
There's a song in here some where.

I had a feeling that Portugal would not return him. Their reason is that the man is now Portuguese and that the statute of limitations is over for such a crime in their country. I guess this is just consistent with the lighter sentences for murder that are handed down in EU countries compared to the USA.
I am not condoning what he did, nor I am even supporting him. I just had a hunch that he was not headed back to the USA.

| | That's the way uh huh uh huh I like it.. | | Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Robbinsville, NJ | | | I was just thinking... if he's born again, reads the bible everyday, is rehabilitated etc etc, I would believe his claims a lot more if he were to stop worrying about extradition and come back to the USA on his own volition to atone for what he did. I dunno..I guess it would just make more sense to me than words.
