Fri - Buxton get together from The Austin Grand Prix at Fados
Sat - probably recovering
Sun - feasting nearby with friends post-race.
The rest will be left for dealing with traffic, people, etc.
There's lots to do, free music all over as well. Parties galore. |

I have to say, I can name the major stats of all of those drivers, and who they drove for and when, etc, and I can't figure out the connection that includes all and excludes others. What do Alain Prost and Christian Klien have in common?? |

Saturday: Downtown? I'm sure there will be plenty to keep me occupied.
Sunday: I don't know yet. Journalist Adam Cooper is my house guest for the week, so I'm hoping he can clue me in on where the teams will be after the race. |

Made the first three at LB in the 70s, Phoenix in the 80s, got to Europe n the 90s, Indy for all that happen. Enjoy the race and track looks really fast and melodic (haha). Go Sebastian and Kimi!!! DVR is locked and loaded!!!

Otherwise, good call though. I still would not have thought of that. |

Congrats to Hamilton / McLaren, Vettel /Red Bull and Alonso & Massa / Ferrari and COTA for a great race.
Of course I am not sure what my feelings are on penalizing Massa for Alonso track position but both drivers certainly made the most of it. |

the layout and transportation wasn't really an issue at all, surprisingly. the F438 races were great as well as the Historical Grand Prix. was awesome getting a shot or two of the old Marlboro McLaren.
can't wait til 2013's race AND Brazil coming this weekend! |

In a situation like what we saw yesterday, where the trailing car gets the advantage of DRS, it is not fair to the guy who is leading. The lead car should get DRS as well.... Or get rid of it altogether.

if you want open wheels cars to be all the same, just watch Indy. o wait, nobody does!
DRS is awesome. this argument is akin to that when one car's KERS system fails, nobody else should get to use it?
i never hear Vettel complain when he's the beneficiary of DRS, or when there's a full course caution (twice) that lets him get caught up to the rest of the pack (like Abu Dhabi). he seriously needs to tone down the whiner act. he's a top 5 driver in the best car and about to win his 3rd straight driver's championship. yeah, everyone feels WAY sorry for you Seb lol. Lewis is a better driver (as is Fernando and Kimi IMO) and Seb had plenty of race left to catch up Lewis after that pass if his car and driving were up to snuff. Hamilton had it going on all weekend.

I think you missed the gist of what I was saying about aero grip. Just make it so a trailing car has a legitimate chance to pass if their "unenhanced pace" is faster, then lose the gimmicks like DRS and KERs.

Not all of all the forms of aero, just some degrees of all of em', or some degree of most of them at least. As you say, make mechanical grip the primary determinate of car speed.
I do think the DRS has improved the spectacle a lot (not as much as the degradable tires though), but further improvements would be good and cost cutting also still seems imperative in that regard. Wouldn't hurt to make the cars more classically beautiful again either, IMHO.
Loved the race yesterday, and the track. If the stars align I'll probably do the road trip next year.

Hamilton made a fair pass and worked hard to get in that position - then held it until the end of the race, if Vettel had a better car he should have been able to get in position and make the pass and hold the position.
IMHO the "sporting regs" is one of those things that makes F1 what it is. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
