Oh how I miss 2005 when I signed up for Facebook. It was only available for use by college students...had to have a .edu email to even register. Once they opened the flood gates for the general anyone to register I knew it was doomed. Facebook wanted to compete with and eventually beat MySpace, however now-a-days I can say it has actually become it...that and all the other features they have basically ripped from other sites.

Facebook is a necessary evil for me too to keep in contact with certain people and groups...but honestly if it went away tomorrow would I miss it? Probably not.

For me, the privacy disadvantages outweigh the advantages of Facebook. I manage to get by just fine without it.

People always complain I don't post ANYTHING personal on FB - including pics of my kids. I take it for what it is - talking in a room full of pervs with cameras and microphones.

How is it different? (seen anything personal from me?)

Not that I recall. I was implying that TB is no different than FB, its still "talking in a room full of pervs with cameras and microphones."

Pretty much. It is fun and useful as long as you are realistic about what it is and ISN'T.
