Word is Tinsel Town is releasing three new films based on Howard's most Infamous characters....

Conan

Solomon Kane

Conan Starts Filming in August

Red Sonja has already started filming but apparently has been delayed waiting for Rose McGowan to heal from an injury

Solomon Kane is in the can as of April and awaiting a release date...

Hope they do them justice this time around....I want to be excited but...

there have to be more R.E.H. fans than this.....

meh...the origonal Sonja sucked IMHO.....but I'm a huge fan of these characters.....and can't wait to see what James Purefoy is going to do with Soloman Kane....

Also not sure what Robert Rodriguez has in mind For Sonja and Conan, he claims to be a big fan......I am stoked that Brett Ratner was taken off Conan as a director.....

like I said I want to be excited but.......

oh and for kicks and giggles...a certain young lady posing as Sonja

I thought Ahnold was a great pick for Conan when they made the first movies - the original character had attitude and muscles and didn't say much, so he matched the original pretty well.

As long as they have fun with them, the new movies don't have to be instant classics - the world needs good B movies, too.

Yep, the first Conan movie was very good.

I hope these new movies don't suck.

I would love to see someone do a very good version of "Red Nails"

Whoever that certain young lady is, she's certainly fetching

Anyway, aside from Conan, I'd never heard of the other two till now, so I'm investigating them. Both look great especially since Solomon Kane and I have the same first name. Excited for the movies now!

Imagine that. A Rodriguez film with Rose McGowan in it.

Howard's books were great, never thought much of the movies
except for the hunk factor. Wasn't Brigitte Nielsen in that.

She was married to some football player on the jets, abut she
wasn't much smaller than him. She was a BRICK HOUSE.

She was married to Sylvester Stallone, later had a major public fling with Mark Gastineau of the NY Jets.

In her prime, she was one extremely lovely, impressive Amazon of a woman!

Red Nails would make a great film.....

Rodriguez has said in many interviews that thay are going back to the original source material.....so take that for what it is worth....

Robert E. Howard was quite prolific considering his short writing career.....he got paid by the word, so he was intense and verbose.....he is responsible for literally hundreds of characters....

Conan just happens to be the character that caught on, and the character he developed the most

other great characters include

Kull
Bran Mak Morn
Red Sonja
Solomon Kane (who is indeed my favorite next to Conan)
Cormac Mac Art
Black Turlogh

a few others I'm probably forgetting

for the most complete works of R.E.H. check out a british publishing company called Wandering Star books....they now own the entire catalog and are putting out some seriously nice collector's editions...

same thing with Edgar Rice Burroughs....People know Tarzan, but not Usually my Favorite...John Carter the Warlord of Mars, or even Carson of Venus.....sigh

again hope the movies are watchable

Well they are dating/engaged are they not?

He claims to be a big fan of R.E.H......so we will see how it goes...
