Fantasy baseball strategy

Sign in to disble this ad
Ok, so I play in a rotisserie league, and have a strategy that generally works out for me when it comes to drafting, and fielding a team.

This year I'm also participating in a head to head league. Is there a different strategy involved in a drafting a head to head team (let's assume scoring and rules are the same)?

This is a standard full live MLB draft, not an auction, and not a keeper league.

I haven't, one day I will. There is a certain social aspect (being able to trash talk to your friends) that I like about fantasy baseball.

In a head-to-head league...you should try to get your starting pitching aligned so you can maximize their starts in a given week.
If you lucky enough to have a stud/ace...play him no matter what.
Your 2nd tier starters...think about playing the one(s) that will get 2 starts in a week's span. Hopefully, this gives you more opportunities for wins, Ks, innings pitched, etc.

Thanks, I had started to think about that. I generally don't value pitches as much in my rotisserie league.

I guess weather is also a much more important factor in a weekly head to head league.

Especially in April. You don't want the bilk of your starters snowed out.
