I've stopped giving a damn about Favre after his last few retirement tantrums, I do love that he's signed with Minnesota so the soap opera can continue on here, however.

That's a surprise to me!

But as I've said before, although I'm a big Packer fan and have been since the 60's, it's strictly a business. Teams discard players like used Kleenex, so IMO players are entitled to sign with any team, anywhere, that will cut them a paycheck. If the Vikes will pay him for the season, then I wish him (not necessarily the Vikes) the best.

I'm just waiting for Gard to come by and revile Favre some more...predictable as sunlight in the Mohave desert.

Here's a question: What do Brett Favre, Randy Moss, and Terrell Owens all have in common?

They're all extremely talented football players who have proven they make a difference on pro teams. They have other things in common, but that's why they get the big $$$.

And if I were managing a pro team that could use a great QB for one year, that is the ONLY similarity I would consider.

That's spelled "Mojave".

No need for me to say a word, he is as predictable as a thunderstorm in Orlando on an August afternoon.

Cheezypoof, we want videotape.

Packer backer all my life, but started hating Favre after the superbowl wins. If he could figure out his team color he'd probably be a lot better.

Oh well... If the Vikes want to lose yet another season there on the right track.

I am very excited about this signing. The Vikings are a strong team and a threat in the NFC. A Favre-led Viking team is likely to finish weakly and be less effective in the playoffs. With the Eagles signing Vick and all the media attention that that is getting, that's two teams in the NFC having to deal with media attention/whoring, creating less drama for the Cowboys.

So, as I think of everything in terms of what it does to help or not help the Cowboys, I'm all for it. Now, if we can get Warner to retire in the middle of the season, the Giants to have an injury or two in their already inexperienced receiver corps, have GB really struggle in the 3-4 transition, and have Forte fall into a sophomore slump, the Cowboys will have even less to worry about in the NFC!

So, if you're a Packer fan, and Favre shows up in your stadium in purple and gold, do you cheer him or boo him?

Same question if you're a Viking fan?

Fixed it for you. He only won one against my Pats. I thought this was just another dumb internet rumor. Not a Pack fan but I respect it's history. My opinion is that Favre has tarnished his legacy big time with all this BS.

No question - he is going to be boo'd mercilessly by Packer fans when the Vikes play them in Green Bay.

Sad.

When Jay Cutler comes back to Mile High stadium in a Bears uniform, he'll get a healthy round of cheers from the locals.

We tend to blame a lot of our team's problems on the front desk here in Denver.

And in some respects in Denver that is justified. Personally I think Shanahan had a bit of the same problem that Holmgren had in Seattle which is that Holmgren the GM was screwing over Holmgren the coach. Shanahan had a great zone blocking running scheme and found players to fit that scheme (and recently nabbed some great receivers in Marshall and Royal) but really struggled on the defensive side both in the draft and free agency.

Still I didn't think he deserved to be fired and bringing in a first time coach as young as McDaniels raised a lot of eyebrows. The botched Cassel trade and subsequent Cutler scenario means that guy is on the hot seat as a coach before the first game of the season.

But as for Favre, Packer fans loved him so much that they tolerated him constantly making noise that he would retire and then changing his mind. That is, until the team told him that they needed an answer because they needed to know how to proceed and he said he was retired only to reneg after the team had already named Rodgers the starter. Then after Favre temper tantrumed his way to the Jets Packer fans had just about enough. Now with him signing with the hated Vikings I can't imagine there's much goodwill left for him in Wisconsin.

I think years after he actually retires (he's like the movie monster that everyone thinks is dead but springs back up for one more scare) I think Green Bay fans will soften and remember his years with the team. But right now, I think he's headed for an angry chorus of boos.

I think you're right.

We're still reeling over the shake up here in Denver. I used to think Pat Bowlen was one of the more realistic and level-headed owners in the NFL, had a good relationship with his coaches, always did what it took to acquire the talent needed to contend. I, for one, have lost that feeling altogether.

But if McDaniels and Co. get us to the playoffs, I'll have to eat my words with a fork and spoon. As it stands, I just hope we end up ahead of Oakland by year-end. To do otherwise would add insult to injury.
