Fast food & Biodiesel

I was thinking the other day about alternate fuels, after reading about electric cars and hybrids, and realized you don't hear about french fry oil biodiesel car conversions much lately, and I still think it's a great viable alternative, save for the fact that you need to have a garage to take up the refining process for the fuel you are collecting and prepping for consumption in your newly converted vehicle.

WHY hasn't McDonalds or some other enterprising mainstay capitalized on their vast supplies of waste oil, and setup McDonald's branded BioDiesel sites right on site at heavily visible locations? They could offer incentives towards fuel and the conversion of the vehicle, get in cahoots with insurance agencies for savings on policies if you go more "green", and credits towards their food, maybe.

Discuss, and spare us the McDonalds is crap food talk, it's not about that.

I have a hippie friend who started doing this...apparently its not too hard and only takes her a few hours a month...but she says she has already consumed all the grease in her immediate area...So that is why...just not enough to make it profitable.

There are at least 3-4 in every large town / area and if you pool all their oils together, as well as give incentives to other local businesses / restaurants to "dispose" of their used supplies at these locales, and it becomes more plentiful.
