I'll admit it. I'm still a huge Batman fanatic. Contrary to most people though, my favorite Batman movie is Batman Returns . I LOVE Tim Burton's setting for the movie, Michelle Pfeiffer plays the perfect Catwoman and I love the fact that Bruce Wayne falls head over heels for her. Danny Devito plays the perfect Mr. Penguin and I think this movie is the best representation of the Batman Comics.
My other favorites include:
-Favorite Joker : Jack Nicholson. He plays the perfect Joker...Just like the way he is in the comic strips. Simply amazing acting. Did you know his whole "I'm melting!" scene was improved?
-Favorite Batman: / Bruce Wayne. Michael Keaton. Bruce Wayne is supposed to be an aloof, mysterious, dark person which Keaton plays to a tee. His Batman voice is worlds better than Christian Bale lol.
-Favorite Villain: Heath Ledger. I don't see him as the Joker. I just see him as a homicidal anarchist. I still can't belive that's Heath Ledger in that movie. His acting is some of the best acting I've ever seen.
Worst Villain: Ahnold . Mr. Freeze? L-O-L. That part was originally supposed to be given to Patrick Stewart, but Joel Schumaker really dropped the ball on that one.
Worst Batman: George Clooney. Really? George Clooney as Batman?? I still couldn't believe it when that was released. He did a horrible job.
Worst Batman movie: Batman And Robin That's probably one of the WORST movies I've EVER seen. But man I love that Smashing Pumpkins song they used for it.
I can't stand Christopher Nolan's version of Batman. Christian Bale's voice when he plays Batman makes me laugh every freakin' time.
...Just my .02

If I want campy I will watch the original! I do like the new christian bale version too because it another side of batman. The darker original side. Check out the graphic novel, Batman : year one by frank miller. Great storyline.

The only thing about Heath Ledger's Joker I didn't like, is I always think of him having this sinister edge, mixed with the insanity, though I believe were he to reappear in later movies, after his time at Arkham Asylum, that it would have been more in line that.
Aaron Eckhart was surprisngly fantastic in his role, considering everyone was talking about Ledger so much.
Arnie might well have been the worst villain, it's close between him and the portrayal of Bane in the same movie, which was utterly dreadful.
Definitely think Danny Devito's Penguin is underrated, probably my fave Batman movie villain of all.
Agreed about worst Batman, and movie, and 100% agreed on Bale's stupid "Bat-voice" ugh....

And, although I liked Keaton in the role, I think he's overrated. I liked Bale, and had no problem with the voice like some do.
I just wish they would do a live action movie more like the Animated series, without the black-rubber suits, and a more comics-faithful sensibilty.

I would like to see Keaton re-cast as an older Batman who passes the torch onto someone else.
I also think Devito is extremely underrated. Uma Thurman as well and lol Bane was awful too.
Jim Carrey was a brilliant Riddler...But I expected that from Carrey.
Aaron Eckhart played an amazing two-face. So did Tommy Lee Jones...However the 1st time I watched the Dark Knight , I cried when Dent fell and got gas on his face. I wanted to believe in a politician like him so badly because we need someone like him in real life!

Micheal Keaton's role also did a great job of turning things away from the campiness that surrounded Batman at the time, and returned Batman to his original darkness. It helped that the comics had returned to some darker ways at the time too. The Prince soundtrack was a bad call, IMO...Orchestrated music would have changed everything for the better. Anywho, I think Keaton was THE most critical Batman. If Keaton failed, you wouldn't be seeing the Nolan Batman today. I think Keaton saved the whole franchise....and made it strong enough to survive George Clooney.
As far as Nolan goes, I like the movies overall, but find the voice silly....did NOT like Katie Holmes in the first one. But Ledger's Joker more than made up for that boo-boo. I like what they did with Two-Face too. The second one with Nolan, was easily the most intense Batman I have ever seen.

Otherwise, I would say the Detective/Field General Batman that you tend to get in Justice League related titles.
I'm not a big fan of ANY of the film versions of Batman.
If I have to pick a non-comic book batman, I'd probably pick the Animated Series batman, followed closely by the Adam West version.
