Most sequels fall way short of their predecessor. But some are better or as good as the original. I'd have to pick the Empire Strikes Back as best sequel, just miles ahead of A New Hope.

Your favorite?

(the second being slightly subjective. In both cases they are a different style of film, compared to the predecessor).

I just realized I misspelled the title if a mod could change that it'd be appreciated.

What I was going to say as well.

Marketed as Mad Max II, in certain places where the first one was not shown.

The "original" or #1 was something I searched for quite a while back in the day and wow, what a let-down it was when I finally saw it.

Regards
Sam

Never heard anyone else say that, generally the first one is the favourite by far!

Back to the Future II comes to mind... Not my favorite, but it was still as good as the original.

I never look at the Back to the Future films as a trilogy, more as one long film. Also gives me an excuse to only watch it back to back

I'd vote for Empire Strikes Back.

Road Warrior was way better than any of the others.

Nobody is gonna say Predator 2?
