Not interested in political commentary. I just think this is indicative of the atmosphere that existed at that time.

People like to doubt 'conspiracies' but hardly realize that there is a lot of truth out there that the masses are not privvy to.

He documented history, even if he wasn't upfront about which side he was on at the time. The only part I don't like is that the FBI was so involved in the day to day operations of what were essentially peaceful protests (I'm talking about MLK, and even, for the most part, Malcolm X). I really wonder if something as powerful, and relevant as to what amounted to the civil rights movement would be allowed to gain enough momentum to implement change in today's socio economic environment. Sadly, with the way government controls influences the media in this day and age, I don't think something like the civil rights movement would be allowed to bloom. |

Most importantly, to me, "it doesn't take away any of the relevance of his photos."

Maybe that makes ideas like civil rights even harder to suppress? I hope so anyway. |

If you're at all familiar with the man, this is quite a surprise, IMO. |

They, instead, use them to let the world know what they are having for lunch, and whether Beyonce or JLo looked better at the VMAs. They are just another pop culture induced distraction to keep peoples minds as far away from civil rights as possible. Any ideas purported by anyone via twitter, facebook, etc that intend to spark controversy can easily be erased by someone who works for those platforms and most likely is ordered to do so. They are the best tool of control the government has. Quote:

The difference here is the importance of this guy's photographs... Its a bit like finding out Han Solo was getting together for drinks with Darth Vader. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
