| i see this fraud in effect a lot in Cali. my elderly neighbors are constantly being shuffled from clinic to clinic for the same tests and procedures every couple of weeks. how do i know? i take them sometimes.
they go for the same blood work, tests, and check-ups, ad nauseum! there are at least three doctors involved in this shuffle. everytime i tell my neighbors they're being used they tell me it works both ways.
they get double prescriptions on their favorite drug "vicodine"!!!
you know, it didn't take very long to notice the pattern coordinated between these clinics. it was also very obvious when it required three doctors to treat one spider bite for 4 weeks!!!
i am not a medical expert and spider bites can be very dangerous but, after seeing this bite and how it was used to rack-up Medi-cal charges, i was disgusted. i no longer assist in this fraud.
also, it seems rather easy to set up a clinic, advertise for patients, and send billing codes to insurance companies. the insurance company passes the costs back to the patient or government.
IMHO, said list should be a LOT longer. ever been to any ER and recieved a bill that didn't make sense?
i got charged for every thing that was laid out on the table regardless of the fact that some utensils were never used. my bill was $600.00 for six stitches,... 20yrs ago. we settled for $300.00 after a long phone call.
the reason i was pissed was items on the bill which included a few double-charges they admitted were errors!
BUT, were they really errors?!!
