This provides some perspective on the relative strength of men and women. I think the boy's high school record is 68 or 69 yards.

Russell Erxleben's 67 yard is the highest I know of. It was sometime in the 70's in a game against Rice (he played for Texas).

Remember in high you can use a tee. I don't know if tees are still used in college.

No no your definitely right, no tees. I was just adding my piece, I don't know much about high school ball, so that was my only useful contribution.

I'm fairly sure that kicking tees are allowed still in College ball for pats and field goals.

edit: It is also kinda odd though cause our kicker hit a 45 yard field goal when he was a sophomore in HS, so yea, it is interesting to see the disparity between male and female kickers. Though it should be noted that there are VERY few female football players at any level really, and girls aren't usually told to play football when they're growing up.

In the late 80's they banned them. You have to take kicks from the ground nowadays.

Thats where a lot of the difference comes from. Imagine how good men would be at... cheer leading (few men are), Men aren't encouraged to do anything involving that so they are not as good as women. If women were encouraged to actively participate in football I'm sure the difference in skill would become much much smaller.

Sorry to have to point out your rather obvious bias, but its right there.
I'm sure Dr.Cheese doesn't need anyone coming to his defense, but if he doesn't mind I'm going to try. I don't know where you're coming up with a "this thread is sexism" thing, but from what I can see there's absolutely no sexism here. Au contraire, mon cher monsieur,a high school girl kicking a 43-yard field goal and setting a record in the process is a remarkable thing and she is to be congratulated. Besides, what do you take us for, a bunch of Neanderthals?

Is the glass half full or half empty? We can look for the good, or bad in a post/thread...

I dont know where you went to school, but we definitely had a male cheerleader or two. And, they were way more agile than the girls.

1, or 2. Just like there are 1 or 2 female football players. As for them being better, well... they probably got beat up anyways.

No, which is why I find it odd this thread got all trollded up in

BTW legs?

EDIT: The female record holder is from Martin Luther King Jr High. So that explains it...I guess. Actually, no. No, it doesn't. Nothing does.

1 or 2 within a span of 4 years is quite a significant amount, Id say. In that span our school had 0 female football players. And actually, the male cheerleaders didnt get beat up at all. Not everyone in high school likes to pick on the gay boys.

I love nice thick soccer girls' thighs. The forward stepped leg is at a bad photographic angle, but the one in the back, rearing up to kick, yeah thats what I'm talking about!

So, is she the one who kicked the 43 yd field goal?
