Beer is just another victim.

Once a year or so, I have a Bud Light somewhere where there's no beer selection. Might as well be drinking water!!! Vive hops, malt, and real yeast!!! |

I realize that this post might be falling on deaf ears (deafness being a common side effect from drinking pabst), but at least others might have the opportunity to recoup that nineteen cents. |

Also, many barley fields have been converted to corn thanks to the the huge subsidies being thrown at the ethanol industry. Hop prices up 3X from a few years back, barley prices going up, plus the cost of fuel and electricity means higher prices.
My local microbrew has jumped from $5.99 to $7.49 a six pack. |

That's 30 cents per beer. |

Cheapest here is $10.50 (approx.) for a 6-pack big name domestic. Micros go for at least $13/6-pack. I can easily drop $30 getting a dozen beer when I pick them out individually. |
