Fetch your Spotify(newly opened for U.S) invite here.

Spotify is a free(with limitations, unless you purchase the paid service) music streaming service with a huge library of artists and albums. Spotify was recently made available to you Americanos. And since I outright love Spotify I decided to give out my invites to help them out, and as a way to give something back to this magnificent community.

PM your e-mail, and I'll send you one over, as long as the stock holds.

Downloaded spotify and while it synched my itunes account to my smart phone (android) it only plays songs I downloaded (maybe a dozen) and none that I've uploaded (5000ish). Wish it:

A) Worked
B) Offered any useful features as a free service
C) Provided recommendations the way any other music applications do.

As of now it is entirely redundant for my needs.

Sorry to hear the grief. I don't use iTunes. But isn't there DRMs that prevent other devices than iDevices to open them?

There used to be DRM on songs bought from iTunes online, but Apple managed to get the record companies to drop the DRM requirement. iTunes music store songs are in the AAC format, which is different (obviously) from MP3 so an AAC decoder is needed on the playback device. AAC decoders are pretty common (even the Xbox 360 has one) though so it shouldn't be an issue.

Of course, if you are ripping CDs, you can set iTunes to rip songs as MP3s and not have to worry about it.
