-Mike | Well, in all fairness, those people are crazy.

| | That's the way uh huh uh huh I like it.. | | Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Robbinsville, NJ | | | what the heck is wrong with people these days?? This is like the 1000th video of stupid mindless violence caused by someone "disrespecting" someone else (taking a leap of faith here that that was the cause..I don't know for sure but that seems to be the common theme..) There was a video out just about two weeks ago filmed in a shop about 15 mins from my house where some gal felt "disrespected" by a cashier so naturally it led to a tussle with more people joining in, hooting, hollering and going on about "respect". The folks who walk around with a mindset like that should really think about having more respect for themselves before they start demanding it from others.

On the last episode of Deadliest Catch, the captain of the Wizard went on a "respect me" tirade. One of his crew tried to mention a concern he had, he told the guy to shut his mouth and not say another word since he was the captain.

Why?
Materialism keeps expectations high.
A neglectful education system keeps people from meeting those expectations. Our society has gotten to the point where the only opportunity for people is a PR campaign by McDonalds. Day of Hiring? Sweet,...50,000 make work transitional jobs intended for teenagers.
We are a nation full of sheeple,....no one is capable of thinking for themselves.

-Mike | That's the kind of idiocy that I'm talking about..
I was brought up with the "respect should be earned, not demanded" mindset..sometimes I get the distinct impression that that puts me at a disadvantage these days.

It is kind of hard to swallow, though, that McDonalds' National Hiring Day is on my birthday.
