Yeah, make sure you don't put that camera down to help anyone. The "woooooooo, wooooooo" and "he got ran over for real" commentary was much more beneficial.

In case you're not familiar with the "day of hiring",....

McDonald's will hold hiring day April 19 to fill 50,000 jobs - USATODAY.com

Well, in all fairness, those people are crazy.

what the heck is wrong with people these days?? This is like the 1000th video of stupid mindless violence caused by someone "disrespecting" someone else (taking a leap of faith here that that was the cause..I don't know for sure but that seems to be the common theme..) There was a video out just about two weeks ago filmed in a shop about 15 mins from my house where some gal felt "disrespected" by a cashier so naturally it led to a tussle with more people joining in, hooting, hollering and going on about "respect". The folks who walk around with a mindset like that should really think about having more respect for themselves before they start demanding it from others.

Funny you mention the respect thing. On the last episode of Deadliest Catch, the captain of the Wizard went on a "respect me" tirade. One of his crew tried to mention a concern he had, he told the guy to shut his mouth and not say another word since he was the captain.

To be fair,...we do live in a very selfish and entitled society.

Why?

Materialism keeps expectations high.

A neglectful education system keeps people from meeting those expectations. Our society has gotten to the point where the only opportunity for people is a PR campaign by McDonalds. Day of Hiring? Sweet,...50,000 make work transitional jobs intended for teenagers.

We are a nation full of sheeple,....no one is capable of thinking for themselves.

That's the kind of idiocy that I'm talking about..
I was brought up with the "respect should be earned, not demanded" mindset..sometimes I get the distinct impression that that puts me at a disadvantage these days.

So . . . you're saying that the news of your continued existence caused rioting in the streets? Yeah, that's not the kind of birthday celebration I want either.

I don't know what the feeling is there but there does seem to be more aggression, less tolerance and understanding around, there are a lot of people who just do not seem to care that much anymore. Symptom of a modern age we could do without

Not in the streets, just at McDonalds. It is kind of hard to swallow, though, that McDonalds' National Hiring Day is on my birthday.

I'm sorry. Would a hot apple pie make it better?

I know more than a few folks who would prefer unemployment over work.
