Hey everyone. Some of you may remember me, though I'm going to guess most of you dont I haven't been on the forums for probably about a year, and this is because I had to stop playing for about that long. The reason behind this extended hiatus is I've been working my ass off getting everything in line to finish my degree I am now a card carrying Mechanical Engineer!
The point of this is to say that I'm likely going to be spending more time on the forum as I try to get back what few skills I had. When I finally picked my bass up again, I was doing a setup (due to weather changing and vastly increased humidity making everything out of whack) and my D string broke So now I'm waiting on some new budget strings before I can start playing again I'm not sure which is worse, being a broke college student or a broke college graduate with no job, but that is a post for another day...

-Mike | lol so true. I'm not too worried about it. If I don't find work by the end of the summer, I'm going back for grad school. I'm signed up to take the GRE on the 20th and that is my last step as far as applying, and former students are pretty much guaranteed a grad position if they want one.

Good luck with the GRE, the Master's if you decide to continue into grad school, and of course the job hunt. Also as you know becoming a P.E. may help, and I understand it's not too bad if you pursue it while all your schooling is still fresh in the mind.
I work in manufacturing (my background is electrical/electronics), and I know it's rough for engineering nowadays with all the outsourcing.
Congrats on the degree! As one of my old professors (RIP) used to say, in a "real field" and not one of those liberal arts touchy feely subjects!

I'm sure becoming a PE would help, but that requires a minimum of 3 years in the field, which is what I'm still trying to do lol. By the way, if I go masters, it will be in Engineering Management. As much as engineers make, the people who manage them make even more Also, I like working with people at least as much as I like working with things

Best of luck.
