I hope it is good...I mean, this subject matter is the ONLY thing that scares me these days for familiar horror film stuff. I'll admit I don't think the trailer looks all that great, but I'm hoping it is because they are truly gonna save the real grit of it for the big screen and not blow the wad on the trailer....

I may go see it. I know my Wife won't.

I agree on the subject matter stuff . Anything dealing with the occult satanic stuff scares me more than a guy on a trike with a mask playing a game.

Isn't it PG-13? How can a good horror movie be PG-13?

Good horror movies rely on quality writing and cinematography, not shock value imo. Unfortunately everyone in Hollywood is just lazy.

Im not the biggest horror fan, but I have to say the trailer got me interested. Then I noticed it was directed by Eli Roth (Cabin Fever, Hostel 1 &2, the Bear Jew) and became slightly more interested. My gf, who loves horror flicks, is quite interested as well.

I haven't seen Cabin Fever, but I have seen the Hostel movies, and to me, those weren't really that scary, or terrifying, just gory as all ****.

The greatest horror movie of al time (IMHO) is The Exorcist. Great writing, great acting, and lots of vomit and cussin'. Can't have one without the other.

Well, that trailer is just plain boring. They don't have to shoot the whole wad or ruin the ending, but they could have put something more interesting than that in the trailer.

Unless that was as interesting and scary as it gets.

Normally trailers feature at least a couple of quick excerpts from the best scenes. Sometimes trailers include ALL the best parts of the movie, because it sucks that bad and they're desperately trying to get suckers into the theater.

Based on that trailer, I'm a little doubtful. It may have a great plot and storyline, but without shock value, it's not going to impress most horror fans. And I'm not referring to cheap lazy gore effects. True shock value goes way beyond that.

I dunno.

Looked kind of weak to me, and it certainly doesn't measure up to:

This classic...

This movie looks pretty horrible. Just another run of the mill hilariously unscary movie.

The Exorcist is still my favorite horror movie ever. Despite the lack of technology back then, it is still a great film. And was supposedly based on a true story.....

But in all seriousness, the subject matter of exorcism movies scares the **** out of me. I don't want to bring religion into this, I'm not really extremely religious, I have my beliefs, but for someone like me who was raised Christian, the reality and possibility of what happens in those films is what makes it the most scary.
