Nice little hand gun ... the only flaw is it doen't like cheap ammo. | I have the same piece and have fed plenty of cheap bulk bricks of Federal and Fiocchi ammo through it without problems. It has been functioning very reliable with very few jams. I don't recommend the Fiocchi ammo because it is very dirty, so be prepared to clean your gun, your face and your eyewear off afterward, but it does work fine. Of course, CCI mini-mags are the best but they aren't as cheap or available in bulk.

Aside from my johnson, I don't want anything in my hands that I can only fit 3 fingers on. lol
I wish Walther made a 22 that looked like that but was more the size of the PPQ.

| | | | A few of the posters here are misinformed about some things regarding the use of a defensive pistol.
1. The idea that a .22 is "all you need" for personal defense is just wrong. In the movies, people get shot and they drop dead. In real life, not so much. I know of one instance just last week where an unhappy fellow charged police with a knife and was shot once in the torso, and the shot *barely* stopped him in time. He's still alive. Just today a local street pharmacist was shot in the face with a .45 by one of his competitors. The young entrepreneur then closed up his storefront and proceeded to drive 4 miles through congested city traffic to a hospital for treatment. Ask any cop: bad guys have the uncanny ability to survive things that kill good guys instantly. Simply put, a .22 is better than nothing, but you can do better. You want the most powerful handgun that you shoot well, and are most comfortable with. I prefer calibers that start with a "4".
2. All things equal, the more ammo the better. Period. A big fat stack of lead is preferable to a smaller one, and having more ammo doesn't lead to "spray and pray" unless your training sucks.
3. PacMan didn't post a picture of a Mosin, which leads me to believe that he either doesn't have one or he does and he didn't think to post a picture. Neither is acceptable. |

I have an AR, no Mosin. Not interested, and that's completely acceptable. Other than the real collector's stuff I've got, I prefer American iron. |

I do suggest that if you have a daughter of or near dating age, you should keep those pictures handy for her suitors

I always answer, "No, I'm going to show them my targets and trophies." |

I'm not much of a fan of polymer guns, I very much prefer steel, but these P22's are so light and it doesn't bother me with such a light load.

| | | Caliber size, & stopping power...... the debate that will NEVER see an end.
Personally,
I prefer practice, & placement!
as a much more efficient means of a cure all type approach to the problem.
I have had, & plan to always have, multiple caliber sizes around, and I strongly doubt I'll have the luxury of being picky about which is quickly accessible if the need for self defense should ever arise.
I guess the way I've always looked at it, if I can place enough of any caliber size on target, theoretically I should be okay.
Hopefully I'll never have to find out if I'm correct.
I figure, a very well placed .22 beats any other caliber that can't find it's intended target.
Not that I currently own any .22
Smallest is .380 and I have just as much faith in that caliber as any other. |

It does me good to see so many shooters here at T.B.!!!!! | I started getting into the actual leagues but since I've moved to SE VA it's almost pointless, last I checked (about a year ago) the closest was in Richmond VA. If I remember correctly.
Just don't know how involved I'd be having to drive over an hour and a half each way.
None the less, I envy you right now!
There is nothing (shooting related) that is ANY more fun than competitive shooting. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
