A 1976 Honda Civic that I bought used in 1986 and was obviously very abused before I bought it. I replaced so many parts on that thing before it finally blew its pistons all over the street that I was working on it more often than driving it.

And yes, although I liked it, it felt a little like being robbed. But that was the price level on cars here, so you couldn't do anything about it really... I still haven't paid it back fully. Now they have actually lowered the taxes on cars, especially diesels.
Now the car is worth maybe 2000€. The meter shows 226000 km.

Boy do i miss that car. Put some major work into it and ended up selling it to buy a brand new car. I bought it with no financial help from the parents on the day after my 17th birthday.

Sold the body to a friend with a newly totaled 1968 with a good motor.
Next car was a 1982 Renault Fuego Turbo... now THAT was a fun car!!! tweaked turbo, intake and running a straight pipe from the turbo out the back It had a top speed of about 145mph!!! |
