'84 Chevy Citation. It was my Grandfather's car and when he died, I paid off all the immediate relatives for it. Got a low mileage car for next to nothing.

.....was a horrible POS.

A 1976 Honda Civic that I bought used in 1986 and was obviously very abused before I bought it. I replaced so many parts on that thing before it finally blew its pistons all over the street that I was working on it more often than driving it.

And I am assuming you meant paid money for. My first road car was a hand-me-down '78 Civic. I paid for that one in blood, sweat, and bruised knuckles.

It didn't happen to be the semi-automatic, did it?

1967 VW Beetle, bought in 1984. Wish I still had it. Lent it to a GF and she wrecked it.

Mazda 626 2.0i GE hatchback from '94. Bought it 2004 for over 8000€, it was driven 150000 km. And yes, although I liked it, it felt a little like being robbed. But that was the price level on cars here, so you couldn't do anything about it really... I still haven't paid it back fully. Now they have actually lowered the taxes on cars, especially diesels.

Now the car is worth maybe 2000€. The meter shows 226000 km.

Mine was this-- a 92 civic hatchback.

Boy do i miss that car. Put some major work into it and ended up selling it to buy a brand new car. I bought it with no financial help from the parents on the day after my 17th birthday.

1967 Mustang Couple. Straight 6 with auto trans.... bondo and grey primer. Between delivering the Star Ledger (newspaper) and working at Shoprite (supermarket) I saved up the $950 asking price, my folks insured it. It took me 6 months to kill it. Sold the body to a friend with a newly totaled 1968 with a good motor.

Next car was a 1982 Renault Fuego Turbo... now THAT was a fun car!!! tweaked turbo, intake and running a straight pipe from the turbo out the back It had a top speed of about 145mph!!!

I used Saturn. Had 150,000 miles on, used it for 3 years, never had a problem with it. Best car I ever owned.

In 1965 I bought a 1947 Plymouth Sedan Deluxe for $65. Wish I still had it. Rear suicide doors. It was so big inside, I could put a full-size string bass in there.
