First day of Senior Year Complete! (review)

ok, so I'm now officially a senior!

I did this last year: I'll list my classes along with first impressions + expectations, then compare em at the end of the year.

1: AP Calculus: All my friends are in there, and Mr. Wolski is WAY cool. the subject itself will be challenging, but the class should be fun.

2: AP English: Again, I know everybody in there, and the teacher is pretty laid back. The fact that it's english allows me a little more "creative license" (aka more opportunity to be random and enjoy myself). Lotsa essays to be expected, but we'll also debate alot, which I love.

3: AP economics: this one will be tough... I know NOTHING about the economy, I'm terrible with money, and there will be lotsa note taking, something which I vehemently abhor...

4: Jazz band. Bass. Awesome.

5: Freshman PE. Yep, that's right, freshman physical education. I never took PE as a freshman, I took computer repair and maintenance instead. yeah, PE is never fun... blegh...

no 6th period. Get to leave early (yay!)

care to share your own stories?

Let me see... senior year... 2007.

I remember there was a scheduling problem and I didn't have a 1st hour class.

Too bad the system caught it about a week in. I was able to sleep in each morning.

Damn computers!

For half my senior year I finagled my schedule so that I only had 2 classes a day (only 4 classes a day here). It was awesome, as I didn't have to be in to class until 11am some days, and other days I would get out of class at 11am and be home by noon. And one of my classes was psych/soci, which was such a slack course. Definitely an excellent semester.

Senior Year for me was (aside from being dominated by an evil redhead) pretty okay.
I had Trig in the morning, which i slept through. Spanish, which i also slept through. Then AP Government, where i go to make fun of all the preppies, then study hall and lunch, then Physics, and finally Engineering, where we got to watch movies cause autocad was all messed up. I skipped lunch and went to the Taco Bell accross from school once in a while.

I decided not to take AP classes like I did my junior year... so my classes consisted of:

Advanced Guitar, AP Chemistry, Government, Advanced PE... and a 9:45 early release.

I was pretty much a bum. And it was awesooooooome.

high school senior year was really lazy for me.

i took english and then wandered around the halls until jazz band then i went to sleep in the principals office, then i went home.

i was the student aid for the principal's office for 2 hours a day took band, choir, English and a class called "Senior seminar". Senior seminar was basically seniors debating with the teacher, if we could come up with a viable reason not to do the assignment he wanted to give us then we didn't have to do it.

wow. Forgot about this one.

my latter evaluation is a bit ironic compared to my initial opinions.

1: Calculus: got switched to a different teacher a week later, he was pretty cool. Calc was hard, but I got through it.

2: English: my most hated class of the year. Teacher was a tool who gave completely superfluous assignments seemingly for her own amusement.

3: Economics: Wow. Complete 180 from my original postulation. Easiest class i took all year, loved the content, inspired me to major in econ starting this fall.

4: Jazz Band. Bass. Awesome.

5: PE: hated for the most part, though it was kinda interesting hanging out with that particular batch of freshmen. Most of em were drug addicts.

this is coming a bit late I know, but whatever. Senior year was a satisfying experience, I had some illuminating moments, some elated moments, and some very gratifying moments [getting through AP tests, passed all of em ]

Well you survived, very proud of ya, boy. Time to go to college, get a real education, and after that get a job where life will start taking a downturn.

It only gets worse from here.

Peace,
Greg
