The amount of sack it takes to take on an entire group of Taliban fighters by yourself to rescue a fellow soldier and then walk away to tell the tale is pretty damn amazing.
I didn't see this posted on the forum anywhere, and feel story definitely deserves some recognition. P.S. We're all adults here and know how act without breaking forum rules, right?

Seriously though, that guy's in very distinguished company. The Medal of Honor is so infinitely hard to get, especially while the recipient is still living. I saw a statistic somewhere that something like nearly 80% of medal of honor recipients since WWII were awarded the medal posthumously.
Hats off to the Sergeant.

I'm raised with true stories like where 100+ man beyonet charged towards machine gun nests during our independence war so I know about balls, trust me.

"As he was dragging Gallardo to cover, Giunta was hit twice. His body armor saved him."
That's hit, as in hit by bullets. And I think this guy had already earned a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart.

Yes, there are the posthumous awards, but there has to be more than one person out there.

Part of the problem with the Medal of Honor are the requirements that have to be met to allow a soldier/sailor/airman/marine to qualify for it. I'm willing to wager there have been a lot of Navy Crosses, and other such similar awards, but because of the strictness of the requirements for the MoH, it keeps the numbers down.
