First time trying to play since the finger injury

... and it freakin' HURT! I went to a jam hosted by a guitar player and drummer I used to play with, figuring I might be somewhat OK by now. I can get through a few very simple songs as long as I don't apply too much pressure on my middle and ring finger tips. I took my bass with the lowest action, but even with the low action, after 6 months and 3 weeks, I've still got quite a bit of work to do to get back into playing shape.

It could be worse - you could have made the switch to drums.

So, apparently I missed something...what happened to your fingers?

anyway, just wanted to say that it took me almost a year before I was back playing after my drunken self decided to try to cut down a tree with a sword 4 years ago...nearly severed my left index finger. I still don't have full feeling back in it, but enough that I can play fine now.
