Fishing Club?

Sign in to disble this ad
Well, as I'm sure you can gather from my user name, fishing is one of the other passions I have in life.
Year round, I can be found plying the waters of Ontario (Canada) for various species and I truly do find it to be relaxing and invigorating at the same time... and nothing does the soul better than being in the outdoors and enjoying the quiet that is nature.
Any other "fishheads" out there in TB land?

I fish all the time. I live on the Chesapeake Bay, so between that and the ocean a couple hours away, there is plenty of fishing. Not much on freshwater fishing, mostly salt and brackish/estuarine.

Not been fishing in years.

Really wanting to get back to it, but just no time at the present.

When I was younger my Father and I won many competitions. Generally went fly fishing on a loch, occasionally spinner or fly fishing on a river. Usually after trout or salmon.

Angler of the Year the last two years in my club. Southern Nevada Bassmasters. I fish a few circuit tournaments also. Regrettably, I won't be repeating as AOY this year since I had a coupla' "off" tourneys.
Here's a few good'uns:

Nice Vinny! Here in the great white north, I find myself fishin for Walleye (Pickeral for my Canadian friends) mostly. I have done a few tournaments, but I find for me, they tend to take away from the enjoyment somewhat.
I have gotten out ice fishin a few times this winter, Whitefish through the ice last weekend and if I can get a furlow from the "Warden", then, well, I'll give 'er another shot this weekend before the season closes on Whitefish and Lake Trout.
Keep 'em coming folks! Fish pron is akin to bass porn in my books!

I hear ya' on the tournaments, it can get intense. Competition magnifies any mistake.

As a matter of fact I joined this forum thinking it was about fishing. Still do, I just like to pretend I play music to cover up my mistake.

Not a tournament guy, but avid fisherman. My entire family used to be big time fly fishermen (and women) out in Wyoming, but I never got the nack. I make do with a Zebco 33 (an old US model with real metal feet) and a wal-mart ugly stick. Still, I will be monitoring this thread for expert advice, as I do with all the music related stuff.

Thanks for the links. Still more stuff to do to kill time at work!

I really do play bass (the instrument). Probably better than the fish for that matter!

Count me in, even though I must admit, I'm a one of them fly fish purist types. I do occasionally cross over to the dark side, but these fish were all caught on fly tackle within the last year.

Count me in on this one. I run a bass tournament club here in PA and I am just waiting for this ice to go (was out today fishing some open water I found). It is my true hobby....I know more about it that anything else....I am just learning all kinds of stuff about speakers and cabs here. I play in a cover band to make money to support my fishing tournaments but these days I find myself spending more on speakers etc than fishing equipment though. lol Soon as summer comes the guitar equipment will just "have to do" for a while. My wife loves the fact I have 2 very expensive hobbies though

Here is a nice one I got this past Oct (she is pretty big for being caught in PA....6lb 1oz)
