Fit 2 Fat 2 Fit

Anyone else seen this?

Fit 2 Fat 2 Fit | Personal Trainer | Weight Loss

Basically, a fitness nut gaining 70lbs in 6 months, and then aiming to loose it again, to show your average fat guy/gal can loose weight.

Kinda hope he fails . . .

Kind of cool, really. Looks like he's surpassed his goal weight gain. Dude also looks like a young Ben Stiller.

I have a friend who went through this "cycle" (over a bit more time, I suppose). His ex-overweight opinion is that "There's like, one percent of genetically fat people, and a ton of lazy fat people".

I really hope he succeeds. The more motivation people have to be active every day, the more chances I have of living among happy people. Inactivity makes people incredibly bitter.

I predict he will fail and end up looking like this version of Ben Stiller

I don't see someone who is fit and ripped gaining weight and then losing it as proof of anything. I think it's harder for people who have never been fit to get to that level. This guy obviously has the mental strength and willpower to do what it takes and that's a hard thing to achieve.

This is exactly what I thought when I saw this a few days ago. I'm not going to wish him failure, but I don't think succeeding will prove anything about the weight-loss being something anyone can do.

Being an Exercise Physiology major, this is incredibly interesting to me.

I agree, in that he'll have a stronger starting point than many. He'll have a greater muscle mass and higher metabolic rate.

But I think the basic principle is fairly sound, just that people who don't have a stronger start will have to go a few months longer to loose the weight (and realise that when they loose the weight they are going to look skinny, not built!).
