This was only a mild flu, but other than not having the pukes, it's been just horrible! Started with 2 days of mild nausea, then graduated into fever, bodyaches, and stuffy sinuses. today is the first day since tuesday where i've actually felt human.
anyone else get the flu yet?

| | | | I had very similar symptoms for 2 weeks but was not quite sure if it was the flu or a bad cold and I had a 4-1/2 day mirgraine headache to make it worse. It was awful. Get well soon Jimmy. |

Get well soon Jimmy. | holy cow, rich! you just named the only other other thing beside vomiting that could possibly make this worse. i was fortunate i dodged the migraine. honestly, i'd rather have the flu than a migraine. used to get them once a week when i was a kid. and i know what you mean by not being able to tell if it was flu or cold. i was stopped up yesterday but today i'm pretty good, so i think it's flu.
glad you're over yours. hopefully i'm pulling out of mine.

I had a sinus infection a couple of weeks ago... I blame the dry vented air at work. Who knows what kind of nastiness is in the decades old duct-work that is responsible for leaving black dust on my keyboard and monitors. I'm lucky in that I live in a moderately sized city so I get to use my bikes as my main mode of transportation... exercising in the cold wintry air really helps me feel better.

It was miserable, I thought I may have been a little run-down but I bumped into a few friends whom had exactly the same thing and it took a month or more to clear. No usual flu symptoms, very dry, but very persistant, I haven't a clue exactly what it was?

And now my daughter has it and I'm pretty sure I'm getting sick again. >_<
On the plus side, I've been losing weight. Woot. Lol.

It wasn't my intention to lose any weight, but hey.. I'm trying to think positive. :P Also, yeah more from just not being hungry at all than anything else.
It doesn't help that I bruised myself up good snowboarding yesterday, too. Now I just don't want to leave bed. Work tomorrow is gonna suck. :P

It pretty much ends my ability to sing for a week or so, which sucks because I do lot of harmony BG and a few leads. I'm not sure what's worse, puking or losing my voice.

Had a case of the flu a few years ago that got into my brain and left me in a rolling delirium for about a week. It was about eight months before I could think straight and I'm still convinced that it left me somewhat incapacitated, permanently.
During the Versailles Conference, the same thing happened to Woodrow Wilson and he never recovered. He had strokes afterward, but he was never mentally the same after having the flu, which was concealed by his staff at the time. This was one of the later waves of the Great Influenza which killed at least 10% of the world's young adults, according to some epidemiologists, and Wilson's resulting incapacity as the the sole major voice for "a just peace" changed history very much for the worse.
The same epidemic killed my grandmother.
It's very odd to think of your grandmother as a beautiful twenty-year-old who died over ninety years ago.

Mostly sinus and headache, but enough post nasual drip to make me worship at the throne of the bathroom god most of the first night. Ugh. Took almost a week before I could really get up and do much of anything (you have no idea how glad I was that the hotel I work at closed for the winter right after Thanksgiving...) and about two weeks after that before I started to get most of my energy back. Yuck. Also lost weight, not so much from upset stomach but because I couldn't TASTE anything for almost three weeks. Hard to eat more than absolutely necessary when even the best steak tastes like cardboard!

I woke up in the middle of night due to the severe pain of all my imbs.
I couln't move without groan.
Not to mention fever & nausea.
Luckily, doctor prescribed Tamiflu quickly and after 1 1/2 days of taking it, almost all of symptoms disappeared.
Thank, doc

After puking seven times and waiting 6 hours in the emergency room to get re-hydrated with the help of an IV, I'm finally starting to feel a little better. I still can't eat and my stomach is upset, but at least the throwing up has ended. This thing is really going around.
