Flying High Again!!

Sign in to disble this ad

Thanks to RWP for getting me pointed in the right direction with this. My goal is to attach a video camera to this rig. After about 5 good flights and landings I'm ready. Hopefully within the next week or so, I'll have some aerial vids

For now, just pics of the first flights.

Damn. I thought this would be a stoner thread.

I wouldn't fly that thing over canada, someone might shoot it down.

My Spektrum receiver. Very high tech It contrasts the Foam and Tape construction. This thing is a workhorse, meant to carry a load, take a hard landing and be cheap and easy to fix. It also takes off in about 2 feet and can land at a VERY steep aproach

We also ran the Slash when it started raining.

I've flown for years but it's been quite a while since I've done it.

The best way to get started is with good simulator software. I use Real Flight G4. If you buy it now, you can download all 4 upgrade packs from their website which is one hell of a deal Once you can fly the trainer planes in the sim, you wont have any problem flying a plane like my Slow Stick.

http://www.realflight.com/products/gpmz4420-index.html

There's no way I could have learned to fly Heli's without it.

No, it comes with a well made Futaba transmitter that connects through a USB port. You need good graphics card, check the requirements on the site.

Always wanted to do this. My dad and I built a hovercraft from scratch when I was kid. that was fun, but I've always wanted to fly airplanes. We have guys that fly gliders off the cliff section of our beach. They just cruise the updrafts and do cool tag games with each other.

These are R/C gliders, not actual gliders like they have at Torrey Pines.

One of the coolest things I did was visit the Tamiya factory in my wife's hometown. They have a whole floor dedicated to all their r/c and static models. Really cool.
