I am old DOS guy so I still call the thing that holds a bunch of files a directory as opposed to a folder. Anyone still call it a directory? Or am I just out-dated? |

Just because I might talk about using DOS, or knowing what 'sys 64738' means, or working with a 8.5 inch floppy, programming on a green monochrome 40 column monitor, programming a crappy video game in assembler, or pining for a TRS-80 back in the day, should not constitute me bragging about being old school. I don't see why anyone whould think that. |

| | | | Directory works for all operating systems. I believe folder only has widespread use with Windows.

If it contained multiple folders (like on our networked drive) I'd call it a directory.

If its a thing on the desktop I put a heap of **** in, its a folder.

I remember when there were two kinds of DOS.
