Fontana California (or nearby)

I have a different kind of favor to ask. My friend Dylan and I are going to be driving to Fontana California on the 24th of September, going to Epicenter 2010, and driving back to Colorado the 27th. We're kinda poor bastards (and cheap too!) and we are trying to do this for as little cash as possible. So my question is, is there a TB member that lives in the area that could let us borrow a 4x6 stretch of carpet so we can throw some sleeping bags down and sleep somewhere safe? Our plan is the truck, but that's not such a smart idea. We'll be there three nights at most (maybe only two), and we wont be home during the day.

Major props to anyone who helps.

(You could flip his car over in the middle of the night.)

I work out in Redlands, if youre traveling the I-10 west you'll pass right by me. I think I may have some spare carpet in the garage...

I want nothing to do with anyone who intentionally spends time in Fontana.

I've lived here in SoCal for some 35 years and I don't think I've ever set foot in Fontana. I don't even know where it is without looking on a map.

If you hear a banjo while you are in Fontucky, just be sure you can run faster than your friend.

I had never heard of it till my friend convinced me to go. But I definetly need a carpet to rest our heads on. Looking at a map it looks like most of you guys are 60 or so miles away from the fest. Which means hella time on the road due to traffic, but were doing this for the sake of experiance.

Silence you fool! Don't give away my location!

Joe, I do live in the area, though I don't think I currently possess any spare carpeting. If I stumble across some, I'll let you know.
Oh, and by the way, you do NOT want to be camped out in the open or in the bed of your truck in Fontana. You'll be instantly mugged by the many many meth-heads there. They're a nasty lot, I can assure you. I would know, it's my job to try and sell them phones every day

Fontana was THE perfect place build a NASCAR track in SoCal. I can't think of any other place in SoCal that so perfectly captures the...um, spirit of NASCAR culture.

Regarding not knowing where Fontana is...come on, we've all driven past it on the way to Vegas.

My older sister, younger brother, and his wife all live in Fontana. My mom bought a house out there for anyone who gets laid off to live until they find work. Problem is, ain't nobody looking for a job right now; they're just bumming it up....
I would say that I can plan a trip out there that correlates with your trip to get you some carpet remnants. But I'm not setting foot out there until the current ****storm that is my family calms down a bit...

Hmm, I may have to open up the zone of bumming a carpet space to the LA area. We don't mind driving, we just need a place to rest, and maybe take a shower. I suppose some Colorado Microbrew might be in the deal if you want some.

mate, I'm tellin ya now, your best bet is to just check into a motel somewhere. There's really nowhere in California where it's safe to sleep out in the open.
