I am in charge of getting food for approximately 40 people for a field trip i'm taking this weekend with my biology club. This will be dinner friday, breakfast, lunch and dinner sat and breakfast and lunch sunday. Budget per person is approximately $15. While that may not seem like much, I think that because we'll be buying in bulk it should be plenty. I am trying to get a sams club card from a buddy of mine, but anyone have some ideas to make this go smooth. About half are vegetarians.

Is that $12 per person, per meal? Or are you talking $12 per person for six meals total?

Mistype, $15 if that makes it any better For all meals. The meals dont need to be elaborate. Cereals and fruit for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch, maybe pasta or something for dinner. This is a camping trip.

Top Ramen will be the "pasta" dinners. Let me know if it works out that you can feed someone six meals for $15. I'd like to know your secrets.

Shoot, you could get a show on Food Network....Six for 15. Speaking of....check out Sandra Lee's show and the one from Melissa d'Arabian. They both have a "cooking on a budget" type shows.

Half of 40 people are vegetarians? It must be the newest in thing at your school.

My school has a lot of Indian students, so a lot of them are vegetarians for religious purposes.

Have them find their food. They will be on a camping trip.

+1! You can probably buy enough for the entire group for $50.00.

That'll leave you enough left over to buy a whole Prime Rib for the non-vegetarians.

Win win!
