The forcast for this winter?

Sign in to disble this ad
Ok, so everyone remembers how much last winter just sucked worse than a pineapple in the butt, but what's the forcast for this winter? Are we supposedly in for another half year of ice and snow? Or is this one going to be mild in comparison? Are there going to be an El Ninos or Ninas or somesuch nonsense that is going to be the result of much shrinkage? I just want to be mentally prepared for it.

I spit on winter.

I'm preparing myself for 60-80F days and 50-65F nights. I'm fully stocked on shorts and sandals.

Yes, I'm an ***hole. Yes, I enjoy living in FL despite the terrible summers and the hurricanes, and threads like this just reinforce that fact.

Between the Pacific currents and the low sunspot activity, don't be suprised if this Winter is a bit colder than usual. Sorry.

It's great down here though

my understanding is that winter in our neck of the woods is going to involve far less snow than last, but be much windier and much colder than last year as well. Not looking forward to colder and windier...

So far so good. We had record low temperatures here in Denver this morning (-19). Hopefully we get some serious accumulation to go with it. This 2" or 3" is a joke. Real snow is measured in FEET!!!

27?? Heck! Round here, that's T-shirt weather.

(Actually, in Canada, 27 is quite warm....)

For some reason, I get funny looks from people when I'm wearing shorts while shovelling 2 feet of snow from my driveway. Go figure.

It has snowed twice here so far, both times less then 3 inches. Following each storm it rained which got rid of the snow and covered everything in ice.
I'm expecting this all winter considering it was only really cold for about a week and ever since its slowly been getting warmer.

Brown winters ftw, I hate snow.

Last year was great for skiing and snowboarding in the Rockies. Sooo much snow. I had a ton of fun with it. But yeah, the Prairies look to be in for a long cold spell. Although I moved to NS 3 months ago from Calgary I still keep tabs on the weather there out of habit.

Winter is well underway up here. 2 feet of snow in some spots. Supposedly the prairie provinces are getting some cold wind chill (-40 degrees Celsius). I was out for a while today and wished I had a scarf at times.

I'll be going back home (Oshawa) on Wednesday for two weeks. Supposedly there is snow, but mixed with rain.

I'm sick for saying this, I know, but I love snow and hope to see a lot this winter...but alas, NJ is slowly becoming New Panama weather-wise...

I love snow too. And I have lots of friends who would threaten to punch me in the face when I got excited at the first snowfall.

Yesterday was in the mid 40's. Right now it's 12 with a high of 17.

The only thing I can gurantee about this winter is that it will be cold and windy. This is a huge surprise to me as I've lived in the Midwest my entire life.

The main thing that I'm hoping for is less ice-I can deal with the snow.

This winter calls for cold with a chance of being frozen.
Just kidding, got some good snowfall in the Sierras last couple of days.
Less snow than normal for this late in December, which is rather concerning.
