Format HD w/o the OS image?

I have to give back my laptop to the school in April. I planned on formating the HD w/o installing an OS. I know I can do it with the Leopard CD but I left it home and won't be able to get it before I have to hand in the computer.

I don't want to download the torrent.

Any other ideas how to do this?

I have an external hd and an iMac that might help?

Why not just leave the OS on there?

You could download and burn a linux distro rather than use leopard
