Same here, this is good news. Pretty amazing and sad, though, that most Indonesians still don't know about the health risks of smoking.

i quit 20 yrs ago and still look back on it as a rare moment of brilliant decision making on my part. i am not a soap-box ex-smoker though. i think it is pretty obvious that smokers are an easy target for taxation and heavy-handed laws these days and i think that stinks (almost as much as second hand smoke! -sorry, had to slip that in).

the reason i mention this is cause i am not a fan of government "save us from ourselves" regulation, but when i read paragraphs like this:

Ardi's case has highlighted the tobacco industry's aggressive marketing to women and children in developing countries like Indonesia, where regulations are weak and many people do not know that smoking is dangerous.

it makes me really feel like business, on its own, just will not regulate itself. obviously, they look to their bottom line first and foremost, but is it that bad for business to show some scruples?

I just recently quit for the second time. First time I was off the wagon for a good 2 year run, had maybe 5 smokes in 2 years. I started up again after my divorce, when my drinking habit increased. Ive been off for a little over a week now, doing fine.
