FOUND MONEY!!! FOUND!!! FOUND!!!

Easter Monday is turning out pretty good...

Last fall we were getting my wife's car fixed and I took a fairly large amount of cash out of the bank to cover the bill, only when it came time to pay the mechanic I was $160 short. I wasn't real sure why but since the money had been in my jeans pocket and not in my wallet I assumed that I had done something really dumb...like pulled my keys out of my pocket and lost part of the cash roll.

Had no idea where it was...Anyway, I covered the remaining with ANOTHER ATM withdrawal and we grouched about it for a few weeks. Then we moved on.

Cut to today: My wife calls. She was cleaning out the china cabinet and in a little ceramic house my daughter made she says she's found eight (8) $20 bills! Apparently at some point I had put the cash in the china cabinet for the next day when we picked the car up.

Since you assumed it was lost, and then found it, you'll have to claim it as taxable income.

Sorry.

Thats one excellent little tale of 'lost 'n found' .. I think we all have done similar things however: securing something important we 'need later' only to find we have hidden it TOO well .. (haha!) anyway, nice job.

Moral: don't hide money in odd places!

Glad you found it, though.

I used to do stuff like that a lot in my substance abuse days. Following me around back then, a guy coulda made a nice living.

Don't hide things unless you are very good at finding them.

You know that hiding things in strange places and forgetting about them is an early sign of Alzheimers.
