Just saw on the news that 7-11's around the USA and Canada, except Quebec, are going to be giving away free medium sized coffees on Thursday from 7AM until 11AM. I haven't had their drip in years, so I'll go try it tomorrow.

Better than most gas station swill or say Folgers or Maxwell House out of the can. Not as good as mom and pop coffee shops that use good roasted coffees.
(I think Starbucks tastes like garbage, they burn the beans) |

-Mike | That's part of why I hate Starbucks.

I have a 7-11 cup i used to fill a few times a week... but I moved and i don't have one on my route to work now. Better than most and reasonably priced. Almost alway's fresh in the morning.
Heck of a lot better than the free stuff the idiots make at work... onecupofcoffeegroundsthrutwofilterscauseyourtoodan glazytoproperlyseperatethemtastelikepapercoffee ... ill pass "does anyone have instant coffee" ... several people do.
i have to say i think it taste better than bucks to me too ... agree bucks coffee taste burnt. I think they like burnt beans cause you can take just about any bean an burn it... it's gonna taste like the other viarety of burnt bean to some extent... so i guess it's done for consistency sake.
I love a good cup of joe ... im some what of a coffee snob in that i will find something wrong more often than the average coffee drinker.
These day's I'm digging my Tassimo machine ... best value per cup convience coffee i've ever had.
saturday morning though... i bust out the french press and the grinder

They dont put two filters in there because theyre too lazy to seperate them, they use two filters because they think it makes the coffee better for them, healthwise. Seriously, I overheard a coworker make mention of this to someone else. I laughed. What it is they are trying so hard to filter out, Im not sure. If its the caffeine, they should just go ahead and drink the decaf (mix it with a little regular if you want half the caffeine or something.
Myself, Im organizing a front to use two cups of coffee grounds per one filter, as it makes for a much more satisfying brew. So far Ive converted a few regular coffee drinkers to my methods, so Im much more likely to get a better cup of coffee without having to make a pot myself.
Also, I dont drink 7-11 coffee much, and when I do, I usually get their french vanilla crapuccino.

maybe it is the fact that more grounds are needed ... didn't think of that... guess instead of griping i can take my own office coffee situation and make something of it.
but perhaps it's the value brand cheapest stuff they can buy grounds that is the culprit of the nastiness... we shall see
There's a circle of coffee drinkers in the office that bring their own grounds, french presses, hide some real creamer, i've even heard a grinder going super early ... i have found and leech off these folks for the occasional trade of me going down to the cafe for them for a cup of coffee when I get back.
Cordially,
the guy who missed free 7-11 coffee day again ...

If you lower your expectations and understand what you are getting it tastes alright sometimes. Same deal with office/break room coffee. Me personally, I won't lower my expectations that far, so I usually void it.
